The glass comes clear, or graded so the tint deepens from almost nothing at the base to gold or silver at the crown. Three diameters, from a small globe you would hang in threes to one large enough to hold a table on its own. One bulb, left visible, because with glass this clear there is nowhere to hide it.

A clear or graded glass sphere on a slim brass fitting

Almost no hardware: a narrow collar and a small cap, so the sphere is what you see

Graded or clear: the graded finishes deepen toward the crown, which hides the fitting and softens the bulb

Three diameters: the smallest to repeat over an island, the largest to stand alone

Warm brass or black: brass to warm the glass, black to keep the outline sharp

Graded glass solves the bare-bulb problem

Clear glass shows the filament from every angle, which is striking and occasionally glaring.
