Too bright and everyone squints; too dim and the table goes flat. This one hangs a soft, lit shape under a floating brim — low, quiet, and easy to sit under.

A shallow disc floating over a pebble of glass

A brim over the glow — the disc sits above the glass, so its underside picks up the light instead of shutting it out.

No hotspot to squint at — switched on, the globe reads as one evenly lit shape rather than a bright point.

Wider than it is tall — the glass swells out below the brim, its widest point sitting just under the rim of the disc.

One line from the ceiling — a single slim cord drops from a round, shallow canopy and meets the disc through a short metal cylinder.

The grain runs straight across the top face

The disc is one broad, shallow shape. It lifts a little towards the centre, then thins as it reaches the edge, so the rim reads as a line rather than a slab. The grain runs straight across that top face. Two finishes are listed below.

Fit and placement

Check the diameter in the specifications against the surface it will hang over. Over a long table, hang a pair spaced along the length — the gallery shows it done that way.
