linen-drum-pendant-light-hemp-cord
Linen Drum Pendant Light, Hemp Cord Wrap, 40–60 cm

The shade is a plain cylinder, a drum rather than a bell or a globe, in linen fabric stretched taut over a frame. Beneath it sits a second, slightly smaller drum, so the whole fixture reads as two bands stacked rather than one flat tube. There's no pattern printed on it and no pleating — the interest is in the proportion between the two tiers, not any surface detail. Lit, the linen glows evenly across both bands rather than in a single pool.

The cord is wrapped in twisted hemp rope rather than left as bare wire. It's adjustable, so the drop is set at installation to suit your ceiling. As a single pendant, you choose one of three diameters. As a cascade, two shades hang from the same small wood canopy at two different cord lengths. That's what settles them staggered rather than level. The staggering is the whole idea of the cascade version — it isn't two lamps side by side, it's one fixture with a deliberate offset.

The cord is adjustable, wrapped in twisted hemp rope, and drops from a small turned-wood ceiling canopy.

Two-tier linen drum shade in a soft, double-banded silhouette

Cord wrapped in twisted hemp rope, adjustable at install

Sits on a small turned-wood ceiling canopy

Also available as a staggered two-shade cascade

The single pendant ships with its bulb

Buy it as a single pendant and one 3000 K E27 LED bulb comes included, so there's nothing extra to buy first. It fits a standard E27 socket, so if you ever want to change the tone later, that's a straightforward swap. The socket takes an ordinary bulb rather than an integrated, non-replaceable one, so when it eventually fails, you replace a bulb, not the fixture.

The cord wrap needs gentle handling

The cord isn't bare wire. It's wrapped in twisted hemp rope, which is part of the look but also means it can fray with rough handling. Avoid sharp bends or repeated twisting at the wrap when you're setting the height, and it will hold its finish for years. The upside is real. That same rope is what lets you adjust the drop yourself, rather than living with a fixed length that may not suit your ceiling.

Specifications

Dimensions

Dia. 50 cm × H 33 cm (19.7″ × H 13″)

Single pendant

Φ40 cm / Dia. 39.9 cm (15.7″), Φ50 cm / Dia. 50 cm (19.7″), or Φ60 cm / Dia. 59.9 cm (23.6″); also offered as three cascading double-head combinations (40+40, 50+40, or 50+50 cm)

E27, 3000K LED.
