open-weave-rattan-pendant-light-dome-shade
Open-Weave Rattan Pendant Light, Dome Shade, Wooden Finial

Natural rattan is woven by hand into a dome over a metal frame. A smooth wooden finial caps the top where the cord meets the shade. The weave is open, so the lamp reads as a texture first and a shade second. Light passes through it and lays a pattern of shadow across the room.

It comes in three diameters, 23 cm (9.1″), 30 cm (11.8″) and 40 cm (15.7″), each a little taller than the last. An adjustable 150 cm (59.1″) cable sets the drop. An adapter in the canopy lets it hang straight from a sloped ceiling up to 30°. The whole fitting is hardwired to the ceiling.

It is hardwired to the ceiling on an adjustable cable and hangs straight even on a slope.

Handwoven rattan shade with real tactile texture

Open weave throws soft patterned shadows

Smooth wooden finial joins cord and shade

Hangs straight on sloped ceilings up to 30°

Every weave is a little different

Rattan is a natural fibre, so the tone, the thickness of the strands and the weave vary from one shade to the next. That is part of what you are buying. If you hang several in a row, expect cousins rather than copies, each with its own pattern.

LED bulbs keep the fibres safe

The shade is natural rattan and wood, so the fitting takes LED bulbs only, in E26 or E27. Incandescent and vintage Edison bulbs run hot enough to dry or scorch the fibres, which is why the rule matters. An LED does the job and keeps the weave in good condition.

Specifications

Dimensions, 1 head, 23 x 13 cm

Dia. 23 cm × H 13 cm (9.1″ × H 5.1″)

Dimensions, 1 head, 30 x 16 cm

Dia. 30 cm × H 16 cm (11.8″ × H 6.3″)

Dimensions, 1 head, 40 x 21 cm

Dia. 40 cm × H 21 cm (15.7″ × H 8.3″)

Material

Natural rattan, solid wood, metal inner frame

Light source

LED bulbs only

Bulb base

E26 or E27

Voltage

AC 110–240 V

Wiring

Hardwired

Mounting

Ceiling

Sloped ceiling

Compatible, up to 30°

Suspension

150 cm (59.1″) adjustable cable

Environment

Indoor only

Moisture resistance

IP20, damp-rated

Body finish

Natural wood

Shade finish

Natural rattan

Frequently asked questions

Can I install this on a sloped or vaulted ceiling?
Yes.
