pendant-light-hemp-rope-drum-wood-bead
Hemp Rope Drum Pendant Light, Wood-Bead Fringe, 40–60 cm

Hemp rope is wound by hand around a straight-sided drum, coil after coil, until the rope becomes the entire surface of the shade. Underneath the hem, a scalloped fringe of wood beads hangs in a soft wave, the one part of the piece with any movement to it. The rope has a coarse, fibrous texture that no smooth fabric or printed pattern can fake, catching light unevenly rather than glowing flat. It looks tied and knotted into shape, not poured or moulded.

It comes in three sizes, and each one is a taller drum as the diameter grows, not simply scaled up evenly. The smallest sits neatly over a side table; the largest is substantial enough to hold its own above a dining table or in a stairwell. A small round wood canopy sits at the top regardless of size, echoing the beads in the fringe below. The cord adjusts to set the drop once it is installed.

One warm 3000 K E27 bulb comes included as a gift, ready to fit before you hang it.

Natural hemp rope is hand-wound over a drum shade

A scalloped fringe of wood beads hangs beneath the hem

Three sizes, from 40 cm to 60 cm across

Ships with a warm 3000 K E27 LED bulb

The fringe is the moving part

The scalloped fringe of wood beads is the one part that is not fixed rope — it moves slightly whenever the fixture is disturbed. That is part of the appeal, but it means handling it carefully when you move or clean the lamp. Pulling on individual beads can loosen the strung trim, so a gentle touch matters here. Left alone, it holds its shape well and simply adds a soft, textured edge below the drum.

Hemp rope wants a dry room

Hemp is a natural fibre, and humidity is its real enemy — over time, a damp room can weaken the wound rope. No amount of careful cleaning reverses that, so dust it with a soft, dry brush or a low vacuum setting instead of water or solvents. This is an indoor, dry-room fixture, not one for a steamy bathroom or an uncovered porch. In return, you get a texture no synthetic rope or printed pattern quite matches.

Specifications

Dimensions

Dia. 40 cm × H 28 cm (15.7″ × H 11″)

Product type

Single-Tier Hemp Rope Drum Pendant with Wood-Bead Fringe, 3 size options

Craft

Hand-Woven

Material

Natural Hemp Rope, wood Beads

Size options

Φ40 cm (height 28 cm), Φ50 cm (height 33 cm), or Φ60 cm (height 38 cm)

Cord length

Adjustable

Light source

E27, 3000 K LED

Included bulb

Yes — 1 × E27 3000 K LED bulb included as a gift

Mounting

Ceiling, Round Wood Canopy & Adjustable Cord

Environment

Indoor

Suitable spaces

Dining table, living room, bedroom, entryway

Dimensions, Overall Fixture

Φ40 × height 28 cm (Dia. 15.7″ × H11.0″), Φ50 × height 33 cm (Dia. 19.7″ × H13.0″), or Φ60 × height 38 cm (Dia. 23.6″ × H15.0″) (size options)

Dimensions, Canopy

Round, wood cap

Dimensions, Suspension Cord

Adjustable

Dimensions, Lights

1 × E27 socket, bulb included

Frequently asked questions

What is this pendant made from?
Natural hemp rope, hand-wound over a straight-sided drum frame, with a scalloped fringe of wood beads strung beneath the hem.

What size options are available?
Three: Φ40 cm (H28 cm), Φ50 cm (H33 cm), or Φ60 cm (H38 cm).

What colors are available?
It's offered in the one natural hemp-rope tone shown.

Free shipping on every order.
