wall-light-bell-alabaster-shade-sconce
Wall Light, Bell-Shaped Alabaster Shade, 26 cm, Wall Sconce

The tilt is the whole character here. A short, straight arm holds the bell-shaped shade forward from the wall, then lets it drop into a gentle downward angle rather than sitting level. That small nod forward is what keeps the shape from reading as a plain dome on a stick. The alabaster itself curves into a rounded base, wider at the bottom than at the collar, closer to a bud than a straight-sided bell.

Finish is the one choice, and it sits on a small fixture, so the effect is subtle rather than dramatic. Brushed brass keeps the warmth of the stone company. Brushed nickel adds a cool contrast instead. Matte black turns the arm into a thin, dark line against the wall. The socket takes an E26 or an E27 bulb, depending on where you are. That regional difference is worth checking against the other lamps already in your home.

It's a hardwired wall sconce with a fixed downward tilt built into the arm.

Bell-shaped alabaster shade tilts gently from the collar

Short straight arm projects from a round wall backplate

Wall projection measures 21 cm from the backplate

Hardware finishes: brushed brass, brushed nickel or matte black

The socket varies by region

This fixture uses an E26 or an E27 socket, depending on where it is sold. Both are common sizes, but they are not interchangeable, so the specifications are worth checking before you order bulbs. Get it right and any bulb of that base will fit, now or years from now when the first one fails. It is a small thing to verify, but it saves a returned bulb later.

The stone carries its own pattern

Alabaster is a natural stone, so the veining in this shade is unique to the piece you receive. No two will show exactly the same pattern, even from the same production run. That means the photograph is a guide to the general look, not an exact preview of your shade. Once it's lit, that individual veining is part of what you are looking at, not incidental to it.

Available finishes

Brass

Nickel

Black

Specifications

Dimensions

W 15 cm × H 25.9 cm (W 5.9″ × H 10.2″)

Product type

Wall Sconce (tilted bell-shaped shade, straight arm, 3 hardware finishes)

Material

brass Hardware, Natural Alabaster Bell Shade

Finish options

Brushed Brass, Brushed Nickel, Matte Black

Overall size

W15 × height 26 cm / W15 cm (5.9″) × H25.9 cm (10.2″), 21 cm (8.3″ wall projection)

Socket type

E26 or E27 (regional)

Mounting

Wall-Mounted, Hardwired

Environment

Indoor

Suitable spaces

Hallway, bedside, bathroom vanity, entryway

Dimensions, Overall Fixture

W15 × height 26 cm (W5.9″ × H10.2″)

Dimensions, Wall Projection

21 cm (8.3″)

Dimensions, Lights

1 × bell-shaped alabaster shade

Finishes

Brushed Brass, Brushed Nickel, Matte Black

Frequently asked questions

How big is it, and how far does it stand out from the wall?
It is W15 × H26 cm (W5.9 × H10.2″) and projects 21 cm (8.3″) from the wall.

What is it made from?
A bell-shaped natural alabaster shade tilts gently downward from a cylindrical collar, held by a short, straight metal arm that projects from a round backplate.
