Hand-bonded paper — minor glue traces are normal
The Akari A is made through a careful hand-bonding process using mulberry paper and glue. Slight traces of glue along the shade edge are a normal part of this handcrafted process — not a quality issue. Each lamp carries the unique marks of the hand that made it.
Two listings — only the cord colour differs
The Akari A comes as two separate listings. The only difference is the power cord colour — black cord or white cord. Every other specification, size, and material is identical. Choose the cord colour that best suits your ceiling and walls: black cord for graphic contrast in modern or industrial spaces, or white cord for a seamless, minimal look in light, airy rooms.

Power & control
The Akari A is a swag lamp — it comes with a generous 180-inch (457 cm) plug-in cord and an inline on/off push-button switch. Hang it from the ceiling on a swag hook, drape the cord however you like, and plug it into a standard wall outlet. No electrician required.
Bulb & light source
Uses a standard E26 or E27 base. We recommend a low-wattage warm LED globe (2700K) — the paper shade glows beautifully and the material is protected. Avoid high-wattage bulbs that could build up heat near the paper. Bulbs are not included.
