A room softens the moment this light comes on. The pleated shade catches the glow from inside and lets it spill out gently, never harsh. It reads like a lantern caught mid-float, holding the eye upward.

A pleated fabric shade gathered into a balloon

  • Ribbed silhouette — vertical folds pull the shade into a wide, flattened balloon, broader than it is tall.
  • Cinched base — the fabric gathers underneath into a small opening, so light drops straight down as well as out.
  • Ball finial — a slender rod hangs from the centre of that opening and ends in a small round ball.
  • Gathered crown — the same folds draw into a tight knot at the top, holding the balloon shape.

Off it is a sculpture, on it is a lantern

Switched off in daylight, the shade reads as a quiet pale form with the folds picking up shadow. Switch it on and the fabric warms through, every pleat carrying a slightly different depth of light. A brighter pool falls from the opening at the base onto whatever sits below.
