A pressed glass disc on a natural wood canopy and brushed-brass stem, ∅ 28 cm (11″) across. It sits semi-flush, just 20 cm (7.9″) below the ceiling, and a diffuser recessed into the opening sends the light straight down rather than into your eyes. Made for hallways, entryways, bedrooms, landings and low-ceilinged living rooms.

What makes it work

  • Wood, brass and glass in one piece — a natural wood canopy and turned cone with the growth rings still showing, a slim brushed-brass stem, and thick pressed glass, with no cord or chain in sight.
  • Recessed opal diffuser — the light is softened before it leaves the shade, so from anywhere in the room you see a glowing disc rather than a bulb.
  • Semi-flush at 20 cm (7.9″) — close enough to the ceiling to walk under in a hallway, while the short stem keeps the disc clear of the plaster so the shape still reads.

Choosing between orange and white

The colour applies to the glass, not the woodwork: the canopy and cone are natural wood on both. Orange is a deep amber that darkens toward the rim and stays visible unlit, an accent against white plaster or a dark wall. White is a warm cream opal that settles into a pale ceiling and lets the wood and brass carry the character.

Before you order

The fixture is hardwired and takes one E26/E27 bulb, not supplied, so you set the warmth yourself: an A19 envelope fits, and a flat, flying-saucer LED shape sits best inside the glass disc — one is pictured below. It is not dimmable, so wire it to a plain on-off switch. IP20 carries no moisture protection, which makes it a dry indoor fitting for hallways, bedrooms, living and dining rooms rather than a bathroom. Some assembly is needed once it is out of the box. Have an electrician make the connection if you'd rather not touch the wiring, or fit it yourself if you're comfortable with basic ceiling wiring — it's a straightforward job.

Which part changes colour, the wood or the glass?
The glass. Both options ship with the same natural wood canopy and cone; you are choosing whether the disc is deep amber-orange or warm cream white.

How far below the ceiling does it hang?
20 cm (7.9″) in total, and it is ∅ 28 cm (11″) across. The wooden canopy fixes flat to the ceiling and a short brass stem carries the glass just below it, which is what makes it workable in low rooms and hallways.

What bulb does it take, and can I dim it?
