Most wall lights are a shade on a bracket. This one is a drawn circle with a light inside it.

An open metal ring stands off the wall, and a small head mounted within it aims a narrow beam straight down through the opening. Unlit, the ring is a piece of geometry on a plain wall — the sort of thing that reads as intentional in a hallway where nothing else is happening. Lit, the beam grazes the inside of the circle on its way past, so the frame picks up its own light. Gold, black, or black with a gold interior.
