A wide, shallow brim flared from a single point

  • Tapered crown — the shade narrows to a fine point at the cord, then flares out into one broad, flat brim.
  • Bulb in open view — a single globe bulb sits under the crown and hangs below the line of the brim.
  • Pale-lined in black — the black shade is finished pale on its inner face, so the underside stays bright when the lamp is on.
  • Low profile — the shade is shallow rather than deep, so it holds the space above a table without closing the view across it.

A surface that changes with the colourway

Up close the white shade carries a fine granular texture across its face. The black reads smoother, and picks up a soft highlight along the brim where the bulb sits beneath it. The silhouette does not change between the two.

Fit and placement

It hangs from a slim cord off a small round ceiling canopy, both finished to match the shade. The canopy is closed and flush, so nothing shows at the ceiling but a low disc. Hang it so the brim sits just below eye level when you are seated.
