A wide disc suspended above a smaller bowl

• Shallow curve — the shade is far wider than it is deep, so from the side it reads as a lens rather than a drum.
• One slim rod — a single stem runs down from the ceiling canopy, through the disc, to the bowl below.
• Flush canopy — a small round ceiling plate, finished to match the shade.
• Smaller bowl beneath — the lower dish is much smaller than the disc and hangs clear of it.

Two shells meeting at a thin rim

The disc is two pieces, not one: a shallow dome over a wider dish, meeting in a rim that tapers to a fine line, crisp the whole way round. Choose the black finish and the inner face reads warm brass against the matte black outside. The brass and chrome finishes carry one tone inside and out.

Centre it above a dining table, a kitchen island or a desk, low enough to be read as a form rather than a ceiling fitting. It carries a hallway too, hung where you catch the rim edge-on as you pass.

Will I see the lamp from underneath?
No lamp comes into view from any angle. What you see lit is the metal itself: the inner face of the disc, and a bright line along the bowl's rim.

Do the finishes differ in anything but colour?
No. The form is identical across all four, so the choice is about the room, not the fitting. The two brass options differ only in depth of tone, one bright, one darkened.

Does it hold up seen from above?
Yes. The top of the disc is a plain, finished curve with nothing sitting on it, so the pendant takes being looked down on from a stair or a landing.
