Most glass pendants leave the light source on show, and you feel it at the table. This one gives you the light without the glare. What it puts into the room is soft, even and warm. Hang it low and the room draws in a little closer.

A white dome inside a shell of glass

  • The gap — The outer shell stands clear of the white dome inside it, with open space between the two.
  • The crown — The cord ends in a small black grip above the shade, and a short stem drops from it into the top.
  • The glass — It looks densest along the rim and the flanks, and thins almost away across the front where the dome shows through.

The glow comes from the dome, not the glass

The white dome carries the whole of the light, and carries it evenly. No hot spot burns through the middle of it. The shell around it stays polished bright, so it picks up the highlights of the room instead of throwing glare back at you.

Fit and placement

Hang it low over a dining table — centred above a round one, or two of them spaced down a long one. It drops from a single cord, so you need one ceiling point above each pendant.

Frequently asked questions

Does it light the table, or only glow?
Both. A brighter band of light escapes below the dome and falls on the table, while the rest washes out sideways through the glass.

Is the shell meant to look uneven?
Yes. One flank swells wider than the other, so the outline shifts as you move around the table. It is made that way on purpose.

Will it work under a low ceiling?
Yes. The shade is far wider than it is deep, so it sits as a broad, shallow dome rather than a deep bowl. It takes little height above the table.
