A fluted glass shade hangs inside a smooth outer globe, so the light leaves in vertical bands rather than one flat wash. It wires into an existing ceiling point behind a single-screw brass canopy, and the 120 cm (47.2″) cord shortens to your drop. Three diameters cover a bedside, a hallway, a kitchen island or a dining table.
What makes it work
-
Fluted inner shade — a ribbed glass cylinder hangs inside the outer globe and breaks the light into fine vertical bands across the ceiling and the wall behind.
-
Clear or amber glass — clear keeps a room open and daylit, picking up a warm gold cast off the brass lampholder when lit; amber reads cognac-brown unlit and deep honey lit.
-
Brass throughout — brushed brass canopy, knurled brass stem and brass lampholder, joined by a black fabric-braided cord.
Worth knowing before you order
It takes a G4 capsule, seated up inside the fluted shade so the fluting stays the thing you see. It runs at one steady brightness — no dimming, no app or voice control — so wire it to an ordinary on/off switch rather than a dimmer. At IP20 it is an indoor, dry-location fitting: not bathrooms, not covered porches, nothing that sees steam. The outer sphere is blown rather than moulded, so a centimetre either way is normal, and amber reads a shade differently on a screen than it does above your table.
Fitting it
The drop is the decision worth making first: above a dining table the base of a pendant usually sits 75–90 cm (30–35″) over the tabletop, and a little higher above an island where people stand. The cord arrives at 120 cm (47.2″) and is shortened at the canopy, so set the height before you tighten anything, and hang the outer globe last, handling it by the rim rather than the fluted insert. Have an electrician make the connection if you'd rather not touch the wiring, or fit it yourself if you're comfortable with basic ceiling wiring — it's a straightforward job. Each pendant is sold on its own, so a run of three or five across an island or a stairwell is a matter of ordering that many.

Frequently asked questions
Which diameter should I choose?
∅ 15 cm (5.9″) for a bedside or a row over a counter, ∅ 20 cm (7.9″) for everyday hallway and kitchen use, ∅ 25 cm (9.8″) to carry a small dining table on its own. All three drop on the same 120 cm (47.2″) cord.
What bulb does it take?
A G4 capsule. The lampholder sits up inside the fluted inner shade, so a compact lamp keeps the fluting as the thing you actually see.
Can I dim it?
No. It runs at one steady brightness from an ordinary on/off switch, with no dimming and no app control.
Can it go in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20 — indoor, dry locations only — so keep it clear of steam and splashes.
