Some corners need more than a table lamp. They need height. This pole runs floor to ceiling and reads as sculpture as much as light, its glow sitting about halfway up. Set it in the corner that never quite came together, and watch the room settle.

A twin-rod frame that opens around the sphere

  • Two domes, one band — The sphere is two acrylic domes met at a slim metal band. Seen from the side, the far dome stands proud of it.
  • Tied at the sides — Short tabs join that band to the rods at three and nine o’clock, leaving the face of the acrylic clear.
  • A parallel pair — Below the sphere the rods rejoin and run on side by side to the floor, rather than merging into one stem.
  • Cross-brackets — Small brackets tie the two rods together at intervals up the pole.

Thick acrylic, reinforced metal

The acrylic is a scratch-resistant grade — worth having on a piece you pass every day. Behind it, the twin-rod structure is built to hold the pole straight at full extension, without lean or wobble.

Fit and placement

This is a tension-mounted pole, not a lamp with a weighted base. A flat round canopy meets the ceiling. At the floor, the pole stands on a flared foot with an exposed threaded screw and hex nuts, and that screw takes up the last of the height. Tighten it until the pole sits firm between the two.
