Glass gets interesting at the moment it stops being flat.
This shade is a single sheet, folded once into a soft curve so it holds itself away from the wall. Light passes straight through the sheet and out of both open ends, so the colour of the glass ends up on the plaster rather than staying inside the fitting. Green throws a cool wash, red a warm one, beige and brown barely tint it at all. The fold catches its own light along the crease, which is the detail that stops it reading as a plain panel.
A single sheet of coloured glass folded into a shade
