Soft light with texture, not spotlight glare. Warm light passes between the cotton cords of the drum and settles at eye level. A wide, flat brim caps the shade, shaped like the crown of a sun hat. Close up, narrow colour stripes break the cream.

A wide brim balanced over a corded cotton drum

  • Wide brim — a flat, hat-shaped shade that lifts light upward and softens the ceiling.
  • Corded drum — the cylinder is built from cotton cords, not woven cloth.
  • Clean bottom rim — the cords finish flush at the base, with no loose ends and no gaps.
  • Twisted cord — a braided gold-tan flex, twisted along its full drop.

Cotton cords wound over a ring frame

The cords hang vertically from a top ring to a bottom ring, set close enough that no gaps open between them. Narrow stripes interrupt the cream at intervals — quiet from across the room, clear up close. Above them the brim holds its flat shape with no wire rim at the edge, so the line stays clean the whole way round. Lit, the cream cords read amber and the stripes deepen.

Fit and placement

This pendant hardwires to a ceiling junction box, so a licensed electrician should handle the install. Over a dining table, hang the drum's base 70–80 cm (28–32″) above the top.

Should I hang one or a pair?
Over a table longer than 160 cm (63″), two pendants spaced 60–80 cm (24–32″) apart sit better than one large shade.

Can I hang this over a stove?
No. The cotton drum is not rated for open flame or high heat — keep to a dining table, island seating or living space.

How do I clean it?
Dust the brim with a soft brush or a low-suction vacuum, and lift dust from between the cords with a lint roller. Never wet-clean either part.
