Some pendants announce themselves. This one settles a room instead. The fabric panels curve out like petals, so the shape stays soft from every seat at the table. Lit or unlit, it holds the centre of the room.

A lobed fabric shade built from overlapping petal panels

  • Overlapping panels — each curved panel lies over the next, so every edge draws its own soft shadow line.
  • Embossed floral — the pattern sits in the fabric in the shade's own colour, reading as texture from across the room.
  • A ring in the rod — the straight rod is interrupted by a plain gold ring, brushed rather than mirror-bright.
  • Two arms, not a bare fitting — two curved arms swing up from a gold collar to carry the shade's lower rim.

The base keeps going below the shade

Walnut-coloured wood is seated above and below that collar, so the metal never runs the whole length. Beneath it sit a stepped cup and a small ball drop in the same gold. The grain shows plainly across the wood. This is the kind of finishing most brands leave off.

Fit and placement

An electrician connects this to the switched point in your ceiling. A round gold cup covers the fixing, and the rod hangs from there. The wall switch itself is not supplied.
