Picture a flower bud caught in the moment before it opens. This lantern stretches white fabric over a curved frame, so the light comes through the weave instead of straight down at you. An overhead bulb is usually the harshest thing in a room. Hang this one low and the room settles.

A bud-shaped shade stretched over curved ribs

  • Shape — the panels swell out to a full round belly, then draw back in towards the base.
  • Base — the hem closes in a soft scallop, wavy rather than a hard rim.
  • Pattern — grey line-drawn blossoms and veined leaves gather across a few panels and leave the rest plain cream.
  • Frame — a slim rib runs under every seam, holding the fabric smooth from top to hem.

A turned walnut cap where the cord meets the shade

The cap steps down like a small finial, with a slim brass collar above it holding the black cord. The two larger sizes repeat the pairing at the base — a turned walnut ball hung from a brass fitting below the hem. The smallest size stops at the fabric. Every metal part carries the same warm brass finish.
