A kitchen island or a long dining table asks more of a light than a single pendant can give. This one answers along the whole length instead of over one spot. The shape stays quiet — one straight line, one curve repeated.

Four dome shades hung from one straight bar

  • Open at the rim — each dome is closed over the crown and open along its lower edge, so the light lands on the surface below.
  • A collar at every crown — a short cylindrical collar, thicker than the bar itself, caps each shade where the two meet.
  • One gauge throughout — the bar and the drop rod are the same slim round tube, so the frame reads as a single line.
  • Level end to end — the rims hang at one height the whole way along the bar.

A grain in the metal, and a lip at every rim

Look closely and the metal is not a flat coat. Fine striations run across each dome and catch the light in bands. The lower edge finishes in a stepped lip, and that small ledge reads as a bright line beneath every shade. Brass comes two ways here: one a bright polished yellow, the other an aged, browner gold. The chrome is brushed rather than mirrored, holding a soft silver-grey gradient instead.

Fit and placement

The bar is one straight run, so set it along the length of the top rather than across it. Use the length given in the specifications to centre it. It fixes to the ceiling through a shallow round canopy, narrower than a single shade.
