Two marble globes, held on one flat band

• Short forward arm — the arm carries the pair clear of the wall, so light washes the surface behind.
• Matched globes — both are cut to the same size, so neither reads as the main light.

Stone that changes with the switch

Light travels through the marble rather than around it, so the whole globe carries the glow. Lit, the veining shows as darker drifts across the surface. Unlit, the globes settle to a cool grey-white and read as solid stone. You get two different objects on one wall, depending on the hour.

Fit and placement

Set it a little above eye level and the glow falls down the wall rather than meeting you head-on. It also works in a pair, one either side of a bed or a doorway. It holds its own against dark panelling as easily as pale plaster.
