Turn it on and the paper does the work. The bulb stays hidden behind it, so you get glow rather than glare. It warms the corner it stands in instead of lighting a whole room. Switched off, it reads as folded paper sculpture on four fine wire legs.

A four-sided paper pyramid raised on wire legs

  • Stepped ribs — fine horizontal ribs ring the shade from peak to base, each printing as a thin line when it is lit.
  • Creased corners — four vertical creases run down from the flat top, sharp ridges where the paper faces meet.
  • Layered lower edge — at its widest point the paper stacks into tight layers, then angles back in underneath.
  • Wire legs and loop — four slender black legs end in small ball feet; a matching wire loop sits on the squared-off peak.

A shade folded from paper over a ribbed frame

The paper is folded so the ribs sit level from peak to base. Up close those ribs stand proud of the surface and the corner creases hold a sharp fold. Unlit, the shade reads as warm cream against the black wire.

Fit and placement

This one is wired at fitting rather than ready to plug in. The black wire goes to hole 2 and the white wire to hole 3. The cord then runs from beneath the shade to a plug matched to your region, chosen at checkout.

The paper is bonded to the frame by hand, so a light trace of glue near a seam is normal, not a quality issue.

Does it have to sit on a table?
No — the wire legs let it stand on a low table or straight on the floor.
