A column of paper lanterns, stacked like beads and glowing from the inside. It reads as sculpture first and a lamp second — soft-edged, warm, nothing like a hard shade. Hang it low over a table, or in a corner that never works.

A totem of shades, not one shade

  • Stacked silhouette — globes and an elongated oval sit straight on one another; longer columns add a faceted disc, second from the bottom.
  • Ribbed paper — fine horizontal ribs circle every shade and catch the light as soft lines.
  • A crushed surface — the paper is finished crinkled, not smooth, so the glow breaks across it rather than reading flat.
  • Brightest at the joins — light gathers where one shade meets the next, then softens through the paper.

Bonded by hand, edge by edge

Each shade is bonded from paper and glue by hand. You may notice minor traces of glue along a shade's edge. That is normal for this construction, not a quality issue.

Fit and placement

It plugs into a wall socket — no electrician, no ceiling rose to cut in. Hang it from a ceiling point, then take the cord across to your nearest socket. That diagonal run is what makes it a swag lamp.

Both carry the same white shades; only the wire changes. White reads quietly along a pale wall. Black draws the diagonal as a deliberate line.
