A long table asks for light along its whole length, not one bright pool in the middle. Vetra answers with a single low run — woven domes above, glowing globes below. Everyone at the table sits in the same light.

Woven domes divided by arched metal plates

  • An arch at every division — a flat metal arch stands across the run between the domes, slim head-on, a semicircle from the side.
  • One continuous rail — a flat band of metal frames the whole run, closing in a rounded end at either side.
  • Globes in plain sight — each hangs on a short stem beneath the rail, a separate point of light rather than one broad wash.
  • Rope-wound drops — two twisted natural-fibre ropes carry the run, thick enough to belong to the design.

A weave that glows as well as shades

The globes throw light straight down onto the surface below. Above them the weave glows softly from within, so the fixture is lit as well as lighting. From underneath, the shade opens into a fan of spokes that lets that glow through.

Fit and placement

The run is one straight line, so set it along the length of the top, not across it. Use the length in the specifications to centre it. It fixes to the ceiling through one flat plate, set near the middle of the run rather than along it.

The metal looks black in one photograph and warm in another — which is it?
The warm one. Where light reaches the frame directly, its warmth shows plainly. In shadow, or against a pale wall, the same metal falls back to near-black.

Is the shade genuinely woven, or a moulded imitation?
Genuinely woven. Close up you can pick out individual strands turning over the crown of each dome and running down to the arch beside it.

Is this one fixture or a line of separate pendants?
One fixture. A single rail carries the run end to end, so it reads as one piece rather than pendants hung in a row.
