One unit will not carry a dining table; hang two or three in a row for that, with the base 75–90 cm (30–35″) above the surface. It runs on a plain on/off circuit and is not dimmable, so choose the bulb output you actually want. IP20 carries no moisture protection: dry indoor rooms only, not a bathroom and not a covered porch.
Choosing the bulb
The E26 socket takes LED, incandescent or fluorescent, so the light is yours to set. A 2700 K warm bulb pushes the green deep and amber — the softer choice for a bedroom or a hallway. A 4000 K neutral bulb keeps the glass cool and clear, which suits a kitchen counter or a worktop.
Fitting it
Assemble the shade and cap first, then make one ceiling connection and set the drop on the adjustable flex before you tighten it. Have an electrician make the connection if you'd rather not touch the wiring, or fit it yourself if you're comfortable with basic ceiling wiring — it's a straightforward job.
