A paper cube that glows rather than shines. Switch it on and the room softens with it, the paper taking the hard edge off the light. Unlit, it reads as a quiet sculptural object. Lit, it is why you stay in the room after dark.

A folded paper cube on four wire legs

  • Peaked cap — the top folds in to a shallow peak, with a small dark metal handle at the centre for lifting.
  • Crossed folds — horizontal pleats wrap every face, each cut across by a long diagonal crease.
  • Tan ribbing — a slim tan rib follows every fold, and reads as a fine dark line once the lamp is lit.
  • Four wire legs — slender black legs splay from under the shade, each finishing in a small ball foot.

Paper bonded by hand

The cube is built by hand, paper bonded onto paper. The sheet is thin enough to carry light through all four faces and the cap at once, so the whole shade lifts rather than throwing a bright pool down. Every fold keeps its crease.

Fit and placement

This lamp runs from a wall socket on a plug-in cord, at the length listed in the specifications. Follow the connection guide below: the black wire goes to hole 2, the white wire to hole 3. It then stands anywhere flat: a bedside table, a shelf, or the floor beside a chair.

Frequently asked questions

There are faint glue marks along the shade edge — is something wrong?
No. The shade is bonded by hand from paper and glue, so a trace can show along the edge. That is the method, not a fault.

Will I see the bulb through the paper?
Yes. A brighter core sits where the bulb is, and the light softens through the folds towards the corners.

Can I use it somewhere damp, like a bathroom?
Keep it somewhere dry — the IP rating in the specifications is for indoor rooms, not damp ones.
