You want a pendant that reads as sculpture switched off, and holds the room once it is lit. This one hangs as a soft, layered cone below the ceiling. The fabric turns a single bulb into a wide, warm pool of light. Quiet in a corner, unmistakable over a table.

Three fabric cones, stacked in descending width

  • Open shadow lines — the gaps between the tiers draw a dark line around the shade, lit or unlit.
  • Whipstitched rope edge — the twisted trim catches the light and gives the smooth fabric a woven character.
  • A wide, flat brim — the top cone opens out close to the horizontal, giving the shade its broad, shallow profile.

Cut flat, shaped into cones, stitched tier by tier

The shade starts as flat fabric panels. Each is cut, shaped into a cone and stacked into tiers. A braided rope is then sewn by hand around the outer edge of every tier. That seam seals the raw fabric edge and holds the cone's shape. Sit below it and the stitching is the first thing you see.

Fit and placement

This pendant hardwires to a ceiling junction box. A qualified electrician makes the connection and hangs it at the height you want. Over a dining table, hang the bottom of the shade 70–80 cm (28–32″) above the surface. Match the size to the table or corner it will anchor — the specifications set out what each one suits.

Is it dimmable?
Dimming depends on the bulb, not the fixture. Fit a Triac-dimmable LED in the socket listed in the specifications, then pair it with a compatible dimmer switch.

Do the tiers ever look slightly uneven?
Yes, and that is the handwork rather than a fault. Tier alignment and rope tension vary a little from one shade to the next. If a rope seam has come undone, write to us and we will replace the shade.

How do I clean the fabric shade?
Dust it with a soft brush or a low-suction vacuum attachment. Skip water, steam and cleaning liquids — moisture distorts the fabric and softens the rope stitching.
