Details
Curved fabric panels lap over one another like a flower closing for the night. Light gathers behind them and comes back soft. The seams stay visible, drawing fine lines around the shade. Hang it over the table where people actually sit.
A shade built from lapped fabric panels
- Rounded lobes — each panel is stretched taut and laps across the one behind it, finishing the hem in scallops.
- Turned wood collar — it sits between the suspension and the fabric, warming the joint where metal meets shade.
- Open cups beneath the hem — slim arms curve out under the shade, each ending in a small cup.
- Plain or printed — the white fabric comes plain, or printed with a fine brown line drawing of gourds, leaves and tendrils.
One finish, canopy to finial
A shallow domed canopy covers the ceiling fixing, and the rod drops from its centre. The same warm gold returns at the ring inside the shade, at the arms and at the ball finial below. Each cup stands on its own saucer disc.
Fit and placement
It wires into your ceiling supply and works with a standard wall switch, which is not included. Have a qualified electrician make the connection. Choose the rod or the chain when you order; the drop for each is listed below.

How does the light fall?
The fabric softens it and spreads it sideways. The open base drops light straight down over the table.
Does the fabric look see-through once it is lit?
It holds its colour, but the seams of the panels behind show faintly through the ones in front. That layering gives it depth.
Does the printed pattern still read with the light off?
Yes. The brown line work reads clearly against the white fabric, lit or unlit.
