Some pendants announce themselves. This one settles in. A crumpled silk shell hangs from a plain white cord, its surface veined with fine creases. It is the kind of shape you stop noticing, then miss.

Fine grey ribs divide the silk into curved panels

  • Pole-to-pole ribs — a fine grey line marks each panel edge, running from the top of the shade down to its base.
  • Crumpled mulberry silk — the fibres keep their creases, so the veining runs differently across every panel.
  • Soft, filled panels — the silk bows gently outward between the ribs rather than pulling flat.
  • Quiet hardware — a small domed white canopy and a matching white cord keep the eye on the shade.

A small white collar where the cord meets the silk

At the top, the shell gathers into a neat white collar and the cord runs straight up from it. The frame beneath is metal, and it stays out of sight. You read it only where a rib presses out under the fabric. The rest is cloth — soft folds, an uneven surface, nothing moulded.

Fit and placement

The shade hangs from a single ceiling point on the cord length listed in the specifications. A qualified electrician connects it to your ceiling supply. The rounder shells suit a dining table or a sideboard. The long capsules hang well over a bed or a low bench.
