Details

A paper column hangs from your ceiling, its surface caught in soft, folded creases. Three rounded drums stack in sequence, each pinched at the neck before the next begins. Lit from within, it glows like a lantern grown tall. Switched off, it reads as quiet, pale sculpture.

Faceted panels, seamed drum by drum

  • Seams left in view — vertical seams run the full height of each drum, and a narrow band rings every waist.
  • An uneven glow — the folds in the paper break the light, so it never reads as a flat wash.
  • A flared crown — a small bell-shaped cap closes the top of the column, just below the suspension cable.
  • A rounded base — the lowest drum tapers gently inward to a soft, closed underside.

Washi paper, creased by hand

The shade is handcrafted washi paper, the material behind traditional Japanese lanterns. Lit, it glows the colour of warm parchment; switched off, it settles into a soft, pale cream. The creasing gives the surface all the texture it needs, so it carries no other ornament.

Fit and placement

This pendant hardwires directly into your ceiling, so have a qualified electrician make the connection. Once wired, it runs from a standard wall switch, which is not included. Give it a room with height — a stairwell, an entry or a double-height space.

Frequently asked questions

What bulb does it take?
You supply the bulb, and the socket matches the base listed in the specifications.

How does the light read once it is on?
Warm and diffused. The paper spreads the glow along the full height of the column rather than throwing it downward.

Can the cable be made longer for a taller ceiling?
Yes. Tell us before you order and we can extend it beyond the drop listed in the specifications.
