Some lighting shouts for attention. This one settles into a room like a stone worn smooth by water. Its shape softens the hard edges nearby. Switch it on, and a bare ceiling point turns into a pool of soft light.

A stone-shaped shade, cut open by a wave

  • A pitted, matte surface — the shade is covered in small pores and craters, matte from every angle rather than glossy.
  • A wave-shaped opening — the underside is cut in one long curve that dips lower on one side than the other.
  • A lighter interior — the inner surface is warmer than the outside, so the mouth reads as a band of gold.
  • Hardware that follows the shade — the round canopy and slim cord come white with the pale finishes, black with the dark ones.

An imperfect shape, on purpose

The design follows Japanese wabi-sabi, which finds beauty in the natural and uneven rather than the flawless. The crown leans off centre, the rim wanders, and the two halves of the opening never quite mirror each other.

Fit and placement

The pendant hangs on a single cord from a shallow round canopy fixed to the ceiling. Decide the drop before fixing the canopy — the specifications give the cable length.

The Cloud is a rounded boulder, tallest at the centre and tucked in at the sides. The Cone sits lower and wider, rising to a soft peak above the opening.

Does the light shine through the shade?
No. The body stays opaque, so the light leaves through the opening beneath. From across the room you read a solid shape with a bright crescent beneath it.

Is the lamp visible from below?
Yes. A single frosted globe sits at the centre of the opening, up under the crown of the shade.
