Some lamps light a room. This one settles it. The rounded paper shade glows soft and warm from every side, turning a bare corner or an empty nightstand into somewhere you want to linger. It looks handmade because it is.

A teardrop shade on four slender legs

  • Teardrop shade — narrow at the crown, full through the belly, drawing back in above the base.
  • Ribbed bands — fine ribs run round the shade in close, even bands from crown to base.
  • Brass-toned crown ring — a slim metal ring and two small hooks finish the open top.
  • Four wire legs — slender black legs lift the shade clear of the floor or tabletop, each on a small ball foot.

Bonded by hand with paper and glue

Each shade is formed by hand, the paper bonded over the ribbed frame. The paper keeps soft creases between the ribs, and they read as texture in daylight. Lit, the shade is warmest through the belly and pales towards the crown.

Fit and placement

The smaller size sits on a console, a sideboard or a nightstand. The larger size is floor-lamp scale and stands on its own beside a sofa or a reading chair. Both are listed in the specifications, along with the cord, its switch and the plug options.
