A single glass shade over a single bulb. The lampholder sits above the glass rather than inside it, so the brass-finish hardware is part of what you see. The glass decides the rest — how much of the bulb shows, and how warm it reads.

Hardware left in view, in brass-finish and black

  • The lampholder — a ribbed brass-finish holder stands in full view above the glass on every shade.
  • The collar — a metal ring with small thumbscrews sits where the holder meets the glass.
  • The wide dome's neck — that shape alone rises into a short fluted glass neck around the holder.
  • The cord — a plain black cord runs the full drop from a flat round black ceiling canopy.

Three glass tones that do not behave alike

Transparent glass all but disappears around the bulb, so you see the filament and little else. Amber warms the light and gives the shade a visible body. Smoke grey goes deepest of the three, with a mirrored sheen that runs across the curve and catches whatever light is around it. On the wide dome it reads close to solid.

Fit and placement

It fixes at the ceiling, with the black canopy covering the fixing point. Hang one low and on its own, or run several at staggered heights over a table. The gallery shows both.
