An egg-shaped paper shade on a slim black wire base

  • Ribbed paper shade — fine horizontal ribs run from the crown down to the foot of the shade.
  • Wire base on four legs — slender black legs splay from under the shade, each ending in a small ball foot.
  • Open crown — a black wire fitting stands over a round opening at the top of the shade.
  • Inline cord switch — it sits on the cord itself, rather than on the lamp body.

A shade closed by hand, not by machine

Each shade is hand-bonded from paper and glue. The join shows as a faint vertical line down one side, and light traces of glue along that edge are normal rather than a fault. Look at the ribbing where the shade is widest: it stays even right around the curve.

Fit and placement

The lamp stands free on its own legs — no bracket, no drilling, no ceiling point to find. Set it where you want soft light low in the room — a reading corner, the foot of a sofa, a wide side table. It runs from a wall outlet, with the plug types listed in the specifications.
