A pendant that turns a bare ceiling point into a soft, glowing centrepiece. Its silhouette swells through the middle and draws in at both ends, more paper lantern than drum shade. It reads as handmade in a way a plain glass globe never does.

A pleated shade capped by a broad ring at each end

  • Fine pleats — narrow ribs run the full height of the shade, fanning wider as it swells outwards.
  • Rounded ring edge — each ring is broad, its outer edge softened rather than left square.
  • White socket cover — a small pale cap sits where the cord meets the shade, keeping the fitting simple.
  • No gloss anywhere — neither the shade nor the rings throw a highlight, so nothing glares back at you.

Texture that still reads with the lamp switched off

Most pendants are designed only for the hours the bulb is on. Switched off, the ribs here still catch daylight along their edges, so the shade holds its shape instead of going flat. The rings stay a warm brown against the pale surface.

Fit and placement

Have a qualified electrician make the ceiling connection. It works with common wall switches, which are not supplied. A round canopy covers the ceiling outlet, so only the cord and the shade stay in view.
