Some pendants sit above a table like a lid. This one looks caught mid-turn — two ribbons of fabric curled and crossed, holding their spin in place. Warm light gathers under the fold where they pass each other. It is a shape worth looking up at.

Two fabric ribbons crossed into one silhouette

  • Two crossed ribbons — one strip of fabric loops into a wide curve, the second crosses it, and each one tapers to a narrow tip.
  • A bound edge — a fine binding follows the full curve of every ribbon and holds the fabric to its shape.
  • The bulb left in view — the lampholder sits under the upper ribbon, so whatever bulb you fit stays in sight instead of hiding behind the shade.
  • A gold-toned stem — the ceiling canopy takes the cable on a short gold-toned stem.

Fabric drawn over a shaped frame

The shade is fabric stretched over a shaped frame, curled rather than pleated, and the weave shows faintly where the light passes through it. Seen from below, the two ribbons read as a dragonfly outline. Face-on, the nearer ribbon reads as one wide curled scoop. The binding keeps every edge crisp against the pale cloth.

Fit and placement

It fixes to the ceiling from a single point, and the canopy covers the fixing. The connection is hardwired, so have a qualified electrician complete the final wiring.

It works with a common wall switch, and that switch is not supplied with the lamp.

Can I hang it over a kitchen island?
Yes. Set it over the island rather than the hob, so the steam goes up the extractor instead of into the shade.

Does it light a whole table?
The pale inner faces of the ribbons throw the light back out sideways, so it spreads across the table rather than dropping in one beam.
