Overhead light flattens a room. This floor lamp is the warmer option — a column of rounded wood spheres rising to a straight-sided drum shade. Switch it on and the light pools low around the chair beside it, more fireplace than fixture.

Rounded spheres divided by a narrower neck

  • A neck between every sphere — a slimmer section sits between one sphere and the next, so the column reads as rhythm, not one solid post.
  • Hardware left honest — a dark metal collar rings the shaft at the base, and a spider fitting carries the shade above the top sphere.
  • Flat disc foot — a round disc in the same finish, its top edge chamfered so it reads thinner than it is.
  • A true cylinder shade — no taper from top rim to bottom, so the eye stays on the column beneath.

Two finishes, one shade

Walnut is the deeper, warmer brown, rich under lamplight. Natural wood keeps a paler tone, closer to the timber's own colour. The same off-white shade tops both. Either sits easily beside linen, jute and rattan.
