Overhead light has a way of flattening everything under it. This pendant does the opposite — it gives you one warm, contained pool instead of a wide wash. Switch it on at dusk and the room settles. That is the whole job.

A smaller dome seated on a wider bowl

  • Two-part shade — a smaller dome sits on the wider bowl as a separate shell, stepped where the two meet.
  • Warm inner curve — switched on, the inside of the bowl glows gold right around the rim.
  • Slim cord — a fine dark cord meets the dome at a short collar, with nothing bulky interrupting the drop.
  • Plain open rim — the bowl ends in a clean circular edge, with no ring, lip or trim added to it.

Grain left visible, not painted over

The bowl is a dark, close-grained wood, finished so the figure still shows rather than painted flat. Above it the metal crown reads polished against that matte surface — the one bright note on a quiet object. Up close it is the change of material you notice first, well before the shape.

Fit and placement

A round ceiling canopy sits flush against the ceiling, covering the fixing, in the same dark tone as the bowl. It goes up the way any cord-hung pendant does, and the shade hangs free below.
