Switch it on and the wood is what you notice. Light comes through the gaps between the slats, and the grain warms with it. The shape does the rest — a slim crown opening into a full, rounded body. It reads as an object first, a light second.

Curved slats gathered into a collar, slotted into a hoop

  • Crown collar — at the top the slats draw together into a short, straight-sided collar, almost touching.
  • Base hoop — each slat end passes through a wooden hoop that holds the mouth of the shade to an even circle.
  • Spacing that widens — the gaps grow as the body grows, so the cage is tightest where it is narrowest.
  • Grain on show — tone shifts a little from slat to slat, which keeps the wood looking warm rather than flat.
  • Hand-woven, eco-friendly wood — environmentally responsible materials throughout.

Widest close to the base, not the crown

The profile stays narrow through the crown, then opens steadily all the way down. It reaches full width close to the base and eases in only slightly at the hoop — weighted low, more fig than dome. Each slat holds that curve in one continuous piece, collar to hoop.

Fit and placement

The base is open, so from underneath you look straight up into the shade and the bulb inside it. That is the thing to weigh when you choose the spot and the height. Best suited to dining tables, kitchen islands, living rooms, studies, corridors, restaurants, and hotel spaces. Indoors only.
