Λεπτομέρειες

A hand-blown oval glass pendant, 28 cm (11″) across, in six colors. A warm white E26 LED bulb is included, and the 150 cm (59″) cord shortens to your ceiling as you fit it. Hang one over a bedside table or a small two-seater, or two or three along a kitchen island or dining table.

What makes it work

  • Blown, not molded — each shade is formed individually, so the wall varies a little in thickness and the light through it has depth rather than a flat, even wash.
  • An inner glass collar — the socket seats in a second flared piece of glass inside the shade, so the bulb appears to float on a ring of glass.
  • Six glass colors — Blue, Brown, Clear, Pink, Amber and Gray, each a different mood of light from the same fixture.

Choosing a color

Clear and Amber pass the most light, so take either where the pendant has real work to do.

Color How it reads
Clear Faintly gray-tinted rather than water-white; with Amber, the brightest of the six
Amber Honey to near-clear unlit, a deep gold the moment it is lit
Blue A mid steel tone that deepens at the rim
Gray A neutral warm gray that goes almost clear at the top
Pink A dusty rose rather than a bright one
Brown The darkest of the six — a bronze-olive amber that tints the light noticeably

Good to know

It is hardwired and not dimmable, so keep it on a standard switch rather than a dimmer; the E26 socket takes any standard bulb if you change the lamp later. IP20 carries no moisture protection, which makes it a dry-room fitting — bedroom, hallway, dining room, living room — and not one for a bathroom or a covered porch. Dust the glass with a soft dry cloth and the color stays as deep as the day it arrived.

Installation

The pendant hangs from a Dia. 10 cm (3.9″) ceiling plate on 150 cm (59″) of braided cord, shortened to the drop you want as you fit it — over a table, the base of the shade usually sits 76–91 cm (30–36″) above the top. Have an electrician make the connection if you'd rather not touch the wiring, or fit it yourself if you're comfortable with basic ceiling wiring — it's a straightforward job.

Frequently asked questions

How big is the shade, and how low will it hang?
28 cm (11″) across and 15 cm (5.9″) deep, on 150 cm (59″) of cord you shorten as you fit it. The ceiling plate is 10 cm (3.9″).

Is a bulb included?
Yes — a warm white E26 LED bulb ships with the fixture, so it lights the evening it goes up.

Is it dimmable?
No. It runs at one steady brightness, so pair it with a standard switch rather than a dimmer.

Can it go in a bathroom?
No. IP20 means no moisture protection, so keep it to dry indoor rooms.
