Puffed Oval Glass Ceiling Light for Hallway, Flush or Drop Rod, Brass

A single piece of glass pressed into a low puffed oval, 28 cm (11″) across, flush at 17 cm (6.7″) or 32 cm (12.6″) on a brass drop rod. A flat frosted disc closes the underside, so you see an even circle of light from below, never the bulb. Sized for an entry, hallway, landing or small dining table.

What makes it work

• Frosted diffuser disc — the flat panel across the underside conceals the bulb and spreads the light evenly, so the fixture stays comfortable to look up at from directly beneath.
• One shade, two drops — both styles carry the same Dia. 28 cm (11″) glass on a 10 cm (3.9″) brushed brass canopy; only the drop changes.
• White or orange glass — white reads bone-white unlit and warms to ivory once lit; orange is a soft honey tone unlit, with faint cloudy marbling drifting through it, and deepens to a saturated pumpkin glow the moment the switch goes on.

Before you order

One E26 socket, rated to a maximum of 5 W, and the bulb is not in the box — at that rating an LED is the sensible choice, it runs coolest inside a closed glass shade, and the colour temperature is yours to pick. There is no dimming circuit, so it works from a plain on/off switch rather than a dimmer. Rated IP20: dry indoor rooms only, not a bathroom and not a covered porch. It arrives in parts, needs a few minutes of assembly, then wires into a standard ceiling box, which the Dia. 10 cm (3.9″) canopy covers. Have an electrician make the connection if you'd rather not touch the wiring, or fit it yourself if you're comfortable with basic ceiling wiring — it's a straightforward job.
