A single globe of hand-crafted mulberry paper, with Kozo fibre woven into a smooth, luminous sphere that glows warmly from the inside. Where most pendants make a feature of the bulb, the Kozo Globe makes it disappear entirely. What you see instead is a soft, sourceless radiance that fills the room with no glare and no harsh direction. The shape draws on the Japanese paper-lantern tradition and the mid-century paper studies of Isamu Noguchi, and it comes as a plug-in swag pendant in ten diameters from 40 cm to 120 cm. This listing is the white-cord version.
White-cord version
This is the white-cord pendant. A black-cord version is offered as a separate listing; every specification and dimension is identical, and only the cord colour changes.
Hand-bonded mulberry paper
Each globe is made by hand using the Chigiri bonding technique. You may see faint glue traces along the edge of the shade. This is a natural result of hand-bonding, not a defect, and it means every piece differs slightly from the next.
Swag-style plug-in, no hardwiring
The pendant runs on a 180-inch (457 cm) cord with an inline push-button on/off switch, which gives you enough length to swag across a ceiling hook and drop to the height you want. You simply hook it, drape the cord, plug it in, and you are done. No electrician is needed and you can reposition it whenever you like.

Bulb and light source
Takes an E26 base (US/CA) or E27 base (EU/AU); the bulb is not included. It works with LED and Edison filament bulbs, and a warm-white LED at 2700-3000 K is the one to reach for: that warm tone passes through the Kozo paper as a pure ambient glow with the bulb completely hidden from outside. A globe or standard A-shape LED at 8-12W suits most sizes, while the larger ones (80 cm and up) may prefer a 12-15W LED for enough ambient output. Avoid cool white, which reads harsh through the paper.

Frequently asked questions
What is a swag pendant and how do I install it?
A swag pendant hangs from a ceiling hook rather than a hardwired electrical box. Fit a ceiling or swag hook where you want it, drape the cord from the plug in a gentle arc across the ceiling to the hook, then let the pendant drop to your preferred height. You can gather or hide any extra cord along a ceiling beam. No electrician is needed, since the plug connects to any standard wall or floor outlet, and the 180" (457 cm) cord gives you plenty of length for most rooms.
Which size is right for my dining table?
As a rough rule, a single globe pendant should be about 50-60% of the table width for good balance. For a 4-seat round table of 90-100 cm, choose 50-60 cm. For a 6-seat table of 120 cm, choose 60-70 cm. For a grand dining room or a large rectangular table, choose 75-90 cm. If you want the globe to dominate as a centrepiece in a high-ceiling space, the 100 cm or 120 cm gives a truly dramatic effect.
What is Kozo mulberry paper?
Kozo is the Japanese paper-mulberry plant, and its bast fibres have been used to make handmade washi paper for over a thousand years. Kozo paper is prized for its long fibres, soft texture, and translucency, all of which make it ideal for paper lanterns. When light passes through it, the glow diffuses evenly with a warm, organic quality no synthetic material matches. The paper is durable for its weight, but it is best treated as a delicate handcraft object.
How do I care for the paper globe?
Keep water and damp cloths away from the paper shade. For dust, use a very soft dry brush or low-power compressed air held at a distance. Keep it away from moisture and rain, and avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which can yellow the paper over time. The globe is delicate, so do not compress or press it or store anything on top of it.
Is this lamp certified for North America and Europe?
Yes. It carries certifications compatible with North America, Saudi Arabia, Europe, and Australia, and it runs on AC 110-240V worldwide.
