Raw-edged slabs of white alabaster, overlapped along a brass bar the way slate laps on a roof, hung from a rectangular brass ceiling plate on two slim drop rods. Unlit it reads as one solid block of pale stone. Switch it on and the LED behind the slabs pushes an even amber band down the whole run, and every seam and vein in the stone comes forward. The long version covers 120 cm (47.2″) — most of a six-seat dining table — and it hangs 80 cm (31.5″) below the ceiling plate, which is eye level over a table and too low to walk under.
What makes it work
-
Natural alabaster slabs — each slab is cut from real stone and left raw at the edge, so the veining and the break line along your bar belong to it alone.
-
Integrated LED — the light source is built in and wired, so there are no bulbs to buy now and none to change later.
-
Brass throughout — plate, rods and bar are one finish, so the hardware reads as part of the piece rather than a fixing you tolerate.
It does not dim
The integrated LED runs at one level and is not compatible with a wall dimmer switch. If the room needs a light you can bring down through the evening, this is the wrong fixture for it — and if your ceiling point already runs through a dimmer, put a standard switch on that circuit before it goes up. The colour temperature is a choice you make once, at the point of order: warm or cool, wired in, and fixed from then on.
Fit and installation
The bar hangs from a rectangular ceiling plate on two rods, so it needs a solid fixing behind the plate — a joist or a rated ceiling brace, not plasterboard on its own. Over a dining table the base of a linear fixture usually sits 76 to 91 cm (30 to 36″) above the tabletop; measure up from your own table before you mark the ceiling, because the 80 cm (31.5″) drop is fixed. Have an electrician make the connection if you'd rather not touch the wiring, or fit it yourself if you're comfortable with basic ceiling wiring — it's a straightforward job.

Frequently asked questions
Can I put it on a dimmer?
No. The integrated LED runs at one level and is not compatible with a wall dimmer switch. If your ceiling point already runs through a dimmer, fit a standard switch on that circuit before installing.
Do I choose warm or cool light?
Yes, when you order. The LED is built in and ships set to the temperature you pick, so it does not switch between the two afterwards.
How far does it hang below the ceiling?
80 cm (31.5″) from the ceiling plate to the base of the bar, on both the 100 cm (39.4″) and the 120 cm (47.2″) run.
Will the alabaster look like the photographs?
The tone will; the veining will not. Every slab is cut from natural stone, so the pattern along your bar is unique to it.
