Two panels of stone stand slightly apart on a slim brass spine, each pinned by a pair of brass ball finials, and the lamp behind them lights the stone from within. Off, it reads as sculpture — a pale faceted shield 35 cm (13.8″) tall and 15 cm (5.9″) wide that stands only 10 cm (3.9″) off the wall. On, the panels turn luminous, veining and all, and a narrow blade of light escapes through the gap between them and runs up the wall.

What makes it work

  • Two natural stone options — White Alabaster is a cool, cloudy white with soft grey veining; Beige Jade is a warm honey stone with amber banding that shows strongest once the light is on.
  • Lit from behind the stone — the LED sits inside the brass spine, so what you see is glowing stone and a soft wash on the wall, never a bare lamp in view.
  • Slim enough for tight walls — 10 cm (3.9″) of projection and 15 cm (5.9″) of width, so it clears a headboard, a doorway or a narrow hallway run.

Before you order

Both stones are natural, so the veining on your panels will not match the photographs exactly — that variation is the material, not a fault. The LED is built into the fixture, so there is no bulb to buy and none to replace. The rating is IP20, which carries no protection against moisture at all: a dry indoor wall only, not a shower room or an exposed porch. The standard build ships in a single colour temperature; if you need a different one, tell us before you order and we will arrange it.

Installation

This sconce is hardwired. It connects to a wall box and runs from the room's switch, with no plug or inline switch on the body, and two fixing holes in the back plate carry the load — masonry plugs in brick or plaster, cavity fixings in a stud wall. Mounted in a pair either side of a bed, the centre usually sits around 150 cm (59″) from the floor; along a hallway, 165 to 175 cm (65 to 69″) keeps the glow above eye level. Have an electrician make the connection if you'd rather not touch the wiring, or fit it yourself if you're comfortable with basic wall wiring — it's a straightforward job.
