Each shade here is cut from a single block of natural alabaster, so the stone itself does the diffusing — light travels through the mineral and comes out warm, low in glare and faintly veined, the darker seams showing only once the lamp is on. The profile is a stepped drum, tighter at the top and widening as it drops, hung on a slim cord that gives you up to 150 cm (59″) of fall. Pale white stone reads cool and close to marble; the brown carries an amber cast that deepens the moment the LED warms it.

What makes it work

  • Stone that does the diffusing — the shade is solid alabaster rather than glass or fabric, so the glow is soft and even with nothing else sitting in the light path.
  • Single drop or three-head cluster — one shade at 13 cm (5.1″) across suits a nightstand or a narrow counter, while the staggered three-head version spans 20 x 59 cm (7.9 x 23.2″) over a table or an island.

Alabaster is quarried, not manufactured. The tone and the run of the veining shift from block to block, so the shade that reaches you carries its own pattern in the same warm register.

Installation

This is a hardwired fitting on a 150 cm (59″) cord, so decide your drop before you make the connection. Have an electrician make the connection if you'd rather not touch the wiring, or fit it yourself if you're comfortable with basic ceiling wiring — it's a straightforward job.
