Two rounded plates of Spanish alabaster, set slightly off one another on a dark metal spine with a short rod above and below — a wall light that reads as a line rather than a box. It stands 52 cm (20.5″) tall and comes only 12 cm (4.7″) off the wall, so it clears a bedside table and a narrow hallway without catching a shoulder. With the integrated LED on, the stone glows from within and washes light up the wall and down over whatever sits beneath it. Off, it is a pale sculptural object against the paint.

What makes it work

  • Natural Spanish alabaster — real stone rather than resin or moulded glass, so the plates carry depth and warm veining that no two pieces share.
  • Offset plate geometry — the two faces overlap instead of aligning, which sends light up and down the wall rather than straight into the room.

Installation

It mounts to a wall box and wires into the mains. Beside a bed, a sconce this tall usually sits with its centre around 152 cm (60″) from the floor; in a hallway, set it at eye level so the upward wash catches the ceiling. Have an electrician make the connection if you would rather not touch the wiring, or fit it yourself if you are comfortable with basic wall wiring — it is a straightforward job.

Can I put this on a dimmer switch?
Not the standard build — the integrated LED is not made for a wall dimmer. Ask before you order and we will arrange the dimmable version.

How far does it stand off the wall?
12 cm (4.7″), over a height of 52 cm (20.5″). That is shallow enough to sit beside a bed or in a corridor without catching anyone passing.

Can it go in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20, which carries no moisture protection at all, so keep it to dry indoor walls.
