Details

A bell of clear glass on a slim brass arm, hung from a twisted fabric cord. It's plug-in: the cord and plug are already fitted, so there's no wiring and no electrician. Mount the backplate, run the cord to a socket, and you have light beside a bed, a reading chair, a sofa or a hallway console.

What makes it work

  • Plug-in, no mains connection — the cord and plug come fitted, so the lamp reaches the nearest socket instead of a wall box. Nothing behind the plaster is disturbed.
  • Bell-shaped glass shade — the flared bell sits open at the base and pushes a warm pool of light down the wall, close enough to read by without lighting the whole room.
  • Brass arm, walnut-toned cap, twisted cord — the shade hangs from a two-strand twisted fabric cord through a brass ferrule, with a turned wood cap at the socket.

Choosing the bulb

No bulb is supplied. The socket takes one E12 or E14 bulb up to 15 W — LED, incandescent or fluorescent — so you set the output and the warmth yourself. A warm 2700K bulb keeps the honey tone the clear glass throws when lit; a cooler bulb reads brighter and flatter through the same shade. The fitting is rated IP20, which carries no moisture protection at all, so keep it to dry indoor rooms rather than a bathroom or a covered porch.
