Cove Bowl Uplight Pendant, Alabaster, Integrated LED, 2 Sizes

Cove is a single bowl of solid alabaster, turned mouth-upward on a tapered stone stem and hung from a slim dark metal rod. Switched on, the light does not fall at you — it pours up into the bowl and washes across the ceiling, while the stone warms through from the inside and the veining suddenly becomes readable. In daylight it reads as a quiet piece of carved stone. After dark it is the softest light in the room. Two sizes: ∅50 cm × H50 cm (19.7″ × 19.7″) and ∅70 cm × H70 cm (27.6″ × 27.6″).

What makes it work

• Solid alabaster, not a shade over a bulb — bowl and stem are both cut from natural stone, so the fixture glows through its own body instead of lighting a diffuser.
• Upward-facing bowl — the opening points at the ceiling, so you get reflected, indirect light and no bare source in your eyeline across a table.
• Integrated LED engine — the light source is built into the fixture, so there is no bulb to source, match or replace, and nothing to interrupt the line of the stone.

Choose your light colour before you order

The LED is sealed into the fixture, so the Warm Light or Cool Light you select at checkout is the light you keep. Warm Light leans amber and candle-like; it flatters honey and brown veining and settles well over a dining table or in a living room. Cool Light is crisper and whiter, reads more contemporary against pale stone, and suits a kitchen or a working space. Where you eat, warm is usually the safer call.

Dimming

The integrated LED is not compatible with a standard wall dimmer switch. Wire it to a plain on/off circuit and leave the dimmer out of the plan.

Alabaster is a natural stone

Every bowl is cut from real alabaster, and the range is wider than a single photograph suggests: some pieces come through honey-amber with heavy dark brown, near-black veining, others pale grey-white with fine grey-mauve markings. Colour and pattern are not selectable, and the piece that reaches you will be its own. That variation is the material doing what stone does, not a fault.

Which way does the light throw?
Upward. The bowl opens toward the ceiling, so the room is lit by reflected light while the stone glows from within — soft and glare-free rather than a bright pool underneath.

Can I change the light colour later?
No. Warm or Cool is fixed at the point of order because the LED is sealed into the fixture, so choose for the room you are hanging it in.

Will it work with my wall dimmer?
No, the integrated LED is not compatible with standard wall dimmers — wire it to a plain on/off circuit.

Which size suits a dining table?
The 70 cm (27.6″) bowl holds a full-size table or a wide island on its own. The 50 cm (19.7″) suits a smaller table or a hallway, or a pair hung in line.
