A blown-glass globe, ∅20 cm (7.9″), dipped from deep colour at the crown into an opal-white base. It takes one G9 capsule, sold in any hardware shop, on a cord you set as you fit it. Hang one over a bedside table or kitchen island, or three at staggered heights above a worktop or dining table.

What makes it work

  • Colour dipped into the glass — the tone is in the material rather than a surface coating, so it keeps its depth from the crown down.
  • Opal-white lower half — the base does the diffusing, so the light lands soft on a worktop or a table with no hotspot and nothing glaring back at eye level.
  • Adjustable cord — a slim round cable on a colour-matched cap, shortened at the fitting, so every drop in a run can sit at a different height.

Before you order

One fixture is one globe on one cord, so a grouped run is that many fixtures, each bought and wired individually. It is hardwired, with no plug and no inline switch, so it needs a live ceiling point where you want it. Bulbs are not included: fit one G9 capsule in the colour temperature you prefer. Nothing in the fixture dims, so dimming means a dimmable capsule on a compatible wall dimmer.

Installation

  • The cord shortens at the fitting, so settle the drop before you make off the wiring.
  • Over a worktop or an island a pendant this size sits 75–90 cm (29.5–35.4″) above the surface; over a dining table, 75–85 cm (29.5–33.5″).
  • Hanging a group, stagger the drops and leave at least a globe's width between them.
  • Hang the globe last and take its weight by the widest part of the sphere, not the neck.
  • Indoor, dry locations only (IP20).

Have an electrician make the connection if you'd rather not touch the wiring, or fit it yourself if you're comfortable with basic ceiling wiring — it's a straightforward job.
