Details

A corner lamp that reads as furniture, not equipment. It lifts the shade to standing height on a footprint that takes almost no floor. Beside a chair it gives a low, contained pool rather than an overhead wash. It adds height without adding bulk.

A tripod drawn in slim metal rod

  • Splayed legs — Three curved legs sweep from a central hub, each tipped in a taper that picks up the pole's tone.
  • Hub point — A short tapered spike drops from the centre of the hub, in the leg tips' dark tone.
  • A banded pole — A slim metal band interrupts the wood partway down, with a ferrule closing each end.
  • One metal finish — Socket cover, pole band and tripod all carry the same finish.

A cone of pleated fabric

Fine lines run the whole slope, from wide rim to gathered top. Lit, it drops a pool over the floor beside it and lifts a softer wash up the wall behind. Unlit, it stays a clean silhouette against the wood.

Fit and placement

This is a plug-in floor lamp. The cord runs from the base to an ordinary wall socket, so there is no wiring to do. Pick the socket first, then the chair.

Frequently asked questions

Which colour temperature should I choose?
Each lamp is built to one of the three listed in the specifications, so you choose at checkout rather than on the lamp. Warm white suits an evening sitting room, neutral white a reading chair, cool white a work corner.

Will it fit a tight corner?
The legs sweep outward rather than straight down, so the widest part of the lamp is up at the shade, not on the floor. Work to the diameter in the specifications.

Where does the cord come out?
At the foot of the pole, just below the hub, and it drops straight to the floor. Nothing runs down the outside of the wood.
